Elegant tango and evening dress that visually elongates the waist giving the optical impression of a slimmer waistline.
Inspired by the quietly geometric bodices of turn-of-the-century costumes, and embellished with lace suggestive of the centuries-old Spanish lace making tradition, this dress pays tribute to some of tango’s earliest dancers.
The dress’s neckline is mirrored by a complementary V, which reaches an apex at the delicate expanse of the wearer’s décolletage. The dress’s cap sleeves equally follows the V-shape formed by the wearer’s hips.
From behind, a similar series of V’s gesture towards the wearer’s hips and follow through to the sinuous folds of an asymmetrical train, which moves from front to back, revealing a glimpse of the dancer’s frame from the alluringly hidden slit at front.
Argentine dancer Mariana Dragone showcases the V dress having fun in a close embrace improvisation with Gaston Torelli at “La Maleva” in Buenos Aires, Argentina: https://www.facebook.com/thelondontangoboutique/videos/1617348135239134/
